Finally got aroung to blogging

Well this week has flown by and I haven't had any time on the computer at all. Work goes from bad to worse but I'm fighting back now and arranging the rosters to suit what I need to do for a change. Things have come to a head concerning one member of staff and something will now have to be done. However I still have the prospect of working 10 days without a day off which I don't think I can do so I'm going to have to rearrange something somewhere.
Stitching wise I have started to stitch a sampler from Polstitches Designs using Dragon Floss hand dyed thread. It is going to be nice I think , the colours are lovely. Other than that I have 3 of Judy Dixon's designs on the go and in 2 weeks will be going to the stitching workshop at Judy's home.
We got Sky Plus fitted today so looking forward to finding something good to watch while I stitch this afternoon. Feeing tired and fed up so want to rest before the week starts again.

Crystal Rainbow

I just finished the beading on Crystal Rainbow, a free design by Judy Dixon of SewtobeSeen designs. I really like this design and it was very easy and quick to stitch.

Sunday

Well here it is the day of rest...ha,ha!
I have just taken a break from the dreaded housework to catch up on blogs etc. Thought I would post a pic of my new stitching, Autumn Echo by Judy Dixon which I am doing as a SAL with a couple of people here and in the US. Only a small start but we are taking this one slowly so as to fit it in with other projects.
No work this weekend but a full week next week. Didn't get anywhere trying to explain how I couldn't be expected to do 3 jobs at once so have resolved to be more selective in the work I do and if it piles up so be it. Got a lot of paperwork out of the way so next week I will be training a new member of staff. Hope he's up to the job or it will be a long week.
Feeling a bit down today, think I'll finish up round the house and go and do some stitching. Will post a pic if I accomplish anything worthwhile.

A finish!

Well I finished Strawberry sampler, sorry this isn't a very good scan but I don't have my favourite photoediting software installed at the moment - it got lost when we got the new computer. I will try and improve on quality for my next attempt. Anyhow I like this sampler now all the charms are added and it's nice to have a finish. Now on to Cottage Dreams by Judy Dixon, a really nice design to stitch.
Didn't have to bad a day at work but on-call tonight so fear the worst , hope I don't have to go out in the middle of the night.

An indifferent day

Well I had great plans for my stitching today but with one thing and another I didn't get much done. In the end I only worked on the Strawberry sampler from Sisters and Best Friends, it is almost finished now, just a little backstitch and some French knots and then the charms to add. I still can't decide if I still like these designs as much as I did when I bought the charts. Think I will leave it a while before I stitch another.
I haven't figured out how to add pictures to my blog yet but soon there will be pics of my stitching, promise.
It's back to work tomorrow, groan. I feel great having been off for 10 days but going back will start up all the old stresses again. I really must confront the problem, too easy to bury my head in the sand. Need to see my boss and tell him that I can't continue being stretched so thin, need a properly designated role and other people to get off their behinds and share some of the load.
Still only 3 days and then it's the weekend.

First post

Welcome All,
here is my brand new blog. Hopefully it will grow and grow. I intend it to chart my journey as I start (and hopefully finish!) new projects, make new friends and learn new things.
Today I am still on holiday from work, well on "rest days" actually - the time we get off for working weekends. So.. I am waiting for the person to come to servie my gas boiler and in the meantime hope to do a little stitching. Today I will start "Cottage Dreams" from SewtobeSeen Designs (Judy Dixon) as I need some serious practice at hardanger before going to one of Judy's workshops in March with a group of people who can probably all stitch must better than me! Don't want to make a fool of myself so ....
Last night I stitched on of her free designs while watching ER - very good performance from Ray Liotta, one of my fave actors. However have now discovered that I stitched some of the beads on the wrong way round so I guess I'll have to redo them. Want to make these small designs into cards for family/friends as they are very pretty.
