A couple of finishes

First I don't seem to be able to post to Blogger on my PC so trying on my phone.
I also did a big blog catch up today only to find that i couldnt leave any comments. So to every one sorry and i loved hearing your news and seeing your stitching.
Been working a lot recently but did have time to finish off my box and

Alan and Bob.....

 

 This is Alan ...the partridge from the BBD Loose Feathers Summer leaflet...lol. I really love this design, it is stitched on Vintage Pear linen from Lakeside linens using the called for threads ( lovely Dinky Dyes silks and Belle Soie from Crescent Colours. I am in the process of making a box with Alan as the lid - to hold all my stitchy bits and bobs. I have also stitched the other small design from this leaflet, not decided how to finish this one yet, and I am now stitching the first part of the main sampler.

 

again stitched on the required linen with DD and Belle Soie.

I have enjoyed a crafty day today - recently I stitched First Bass by Ink Circles and today did a felt backed ornament finish ( pic to follow when the glue is dry) and I also started my box finish using Alan. It was a bit of a revelation really, I spent half the morning crafting and listening to music and enjoyed it immensely. I must make time to do more of this as it felt very therapeutic. I am always a bit scared of finishing items but am thinking that I need to just bite the bullet and have a go.

June......????

Well can you believe it is October already? And here am I blogging about June! Apologies to anyone still following my blog but I kept having problems when trying to upload pictures and, well, a blog without pictures just isn't the same. Happily Blogger has been updated and all seems to be well now. All I have to show you is June by LHN but I will endeavour to upload some more pics now that I can. 

A lot has been happening around here so I will just give you a brief flavour.

We did some renovations and decorating to the house - now have a nice new dining and living room although I haven't got around to putting any of my stitching on the walls yet. 

DD1 is currently on holiday in Lanzarote and has started an evening course which will hopefully lead to her going to uni to do a nursing degree next September. 

DD2  has started a politics course at uni and seems to be enjoying it.

DH and I are still working hard and hoping to be able to afford a holiday next year, possibly in the U.S. Ican't believe it's a year since we went to Spain!

Anyway just a short post to get me started again - I will be back with more stitching and crocheting to show very soon. If there is anyone still reading, thank you so much!
